How to connect Navidrome to iPhone

Use NetMusic to connect directly to your own Navidrome server, load its library and play it in a native iPhone music app.

Before you begin

You need a running Navidrome server, a Navidrome username and password, and an iPhone that can reach the server. When connecting at home, keep the iPhone on the same network. For access away from home, use a secure HTTPS address or a VPN you control.

Server address rule: enter the root address only. NetMusic adds the Subsonic-compatible API path itself, so do not append /rest.

Add the Navidrome source

NetMusic Sources + Music Servers Navidrome

  1. Open Sources. In NetMusic, tap Sources in the bottom bar, then tap the plus button beside Added Sources.
  2. Choose Navidrome. Scroll to Music Servers and tap Navidrome.
  3. Enter the server address. Choose HTTP or HTTPS. Enter an IP address or domain; a hosted subpath is allowed. Navidrome’s default port is 4533.
  4. Enter your account. Type the username and password for an account created on your Navidrome server. Both fields are required.
  5. Connect and load the library. Tap Connect and Load Library. Keep NetMusic open while the first library sync begins.

If NetMusic cannot connect

  • Confirm the address opens from the iPhone’s current network.
  • Remove /rest from the address if you added it manually.
  • Check HTTP versus HTTPS and verify the port exposed by Navidrome or your reverse proxy.
  • Confirm the account can sign in to Navidrome and that its password has not changed.
  • If you use a local IP address, make sure Local Network access is allowed for NetMusic in iOS Settings.
Multiple sources: the free version supports one playback source. NetMusic Pro enables multiple cloud, NAS and server sources at the same time.

Listen away from your server

Once songs appear in the library, open a song’s More Actions menu and choose Download, or enable offline mode for a playlist. See the offline listening guide for the full workflow.
