Cloud music · Read-only access

Google Drive music player for iOS

NetMusic turns the music files you already keep in Google Drive into a native iPhone and iPad library—without uploading them to a NetMusic cloud.

How the connection works

NetMusic asks Google for read-only Drive access so you can browse, stream and download the files you choose. Google sign-in is an optional storage connection; it does not create a NetMusic account.

Your Drive stays read-only. NetMusic does not upload, rename, edit or delete files in Google Drive. It builds a local library index on your device.

Connect Google Drive

NetMusic Sources + Cloud Sources Google Drive

  1. Open Add Source. Tap Sources, then tap the plus button beside Added Sources.
  2. Choose Google Drive. Scroll to Cloud Sources and tap Google Drive.
  3. Start authorization. On the Account Sign-In screen, tap Authorize Google Drive Access.
  4. Complete Google sign-in. Choose the Google account that stores your music and approve the displayed read-only access.
  5. Return to NetMusic. After authorization completes, browse Drive and select the music files or folders you want in the library.
  6. Let the library sync. NetMusic indexes the selected content so you can browse it by artist, album, song, genre or folder.

Play online or save offline

Tap a song to stream it from Google Drive. For travel or unreliable networks, open the song’s More Actions menu and tap Download, or enable offline mode for a playlist. Downloaded files stay inside NetMusic on the device.

Keep the library tidy

  • Create a dedicated music folder in Drive before connecting if your Drive contains many unrelated files.
  • Select only the folders you want indexed; you can add or edit paths later through the source’s Manage Folders action.
  • Use standard audio metadata for title, artist, album and artwork so the local library stays organized.
  • The same Google account cannot be added twice; use the existing source and edit its selected paths.

If sign-in or playback stops working

  • Reopen the Google Drive source and reauthorize if NetMusic reports that sign-in expired.
  • Confirm the file still exists and the signed-in account still has access.
  • Check that the file uses a supported format. FLAC and DSD require NetMusic Pro.
  • If a download is incomplete, keep NetMusic online until the download queue reports completion.
Removing the source: signing out or removing Google Drive from NetMusic clears the local connection. It does not delete anything from Google Drive.

Privacy details

NetMusic requests the Google Drive read-only scope plus basic account identity needed to display the selected account and complete authorization. For the complete data-handling description, read the NetMusic Privacy Policy.
